An Emirati employee of Kalba Municipality died after he was run over by a car on Wednesday (June 14), according to Sharjah Police. The 38-year-old victim was working and had stopped his car by the roadside for an inspection when he was run over by a car in the Wadi Al Helo area in Kalba City, according to Sharjah Police. He sustained serious injuries and died in the hospital. Police investigation revealed that the victim had followed traffic rules to stop his car by the roadside. Colonel Dr. Ali Al Kay Al Hamoudi, Director of the Eastern Region Police Department at Sharjah Police, said that investigation also revealed that the driver of the other car was speeding. The motorist said he was sleepy and lost control of his car. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution and the man is expected to stand trial. ICA/Expat Media
