Two Filipino expats discovered dead in Dubai

The Philippine consulate has reported that two Filipino expats were discovered dead in Dubai last week. The relatives of the deceased received "deep condolences" from the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and were reassured that “justice would be served" for the victims. "The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi conveys its deep condolences to the family of two Overseas Filipinos found lifeless in Dubai last week and sends its assurance that we will ensure that justice would be served. The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai is in coordination with local law enforcement authorities who are currently conducting an investigation on the matter. As of the moment, UAE authorities are unable to provide details regarding the ongoing investigation. Likewise, the Consulate and the OWWA Office in Dubai have gotten in touch with the family, reassuring them that the Philippine Government shall provide necessary assistance as they grieve the loss of their loved ones," according to the Philippine Embassy in a statement sent to Expatmedia.net. Consul-General Marford Angeles, the spokesperson of the embassy, said that the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai is coordinating with the local law enforcement authorities. An investigation is still underway. Hence, the Consul-General is unable to provide more details about the case. The Philippine Consulate General and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Dubai are in contact with the bereaved to arrange for the necessary assistance. Meanwhile, the wife of one of the deceased featured in a viral social media interview to say that her husband and his roommate were found dead in their room last July 27. She has reportedly approached the OWWA in Tacloban, Philippines for assistance in the case. "I hope we will get justice for my husband's death.
