The UAE’s Ministry of Interior has banned all marches, car parades as well as random gatherings on National Day. The UAE National Day is on December 2, but authorities have announced a paid public holiday from December 2 to 4. In the past, residents have been caught holding random car parades on the roads to celebrate National Day, causing traffic delays. This year, the Ministry of Interior has issued a set of rules the public to follow on UAE National Day, specifically banning marches, unauthorised car parades and random gatherings. The ministry warned that violators will be fined and their vehicles will be impounded. The ministry also banned people from using party sprays. In previous years, revelers were spotted using these on passing cars and pedestrians. This time, the use of any party spray by drivers, passengers, or pedestrians is strictly prohibited. Car owners are also banned from altering their vehicle’s colour or appearance, or adding stickers or signages on their vehicle, except for National Day stickers. ICA/Expat Media
