Expats: Dh10,000 monthly income to sponsor 5 relatives

The Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) announced that expats who want to bring five relatives to UAE must have at least Dh10,000 monthly income to sponsor their relatives. Under the Cabinet Resolution, foreigners who wish to bring their relatives to the country are also required to have suitable housing, as stated in the resolution. According to Ali Muhammad Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs, and Ports Security, an expat is allowed to bring five individuals if the monthly income is Dh10,000. If an expat wants to bring six relatives to UAE, one must have at least Dh15,000 monthly income. However, if an applicant desires to sponsor more than six persons, the Director General of the ICP will be the one to determine the applicant's eligibility to sponsor.
