A single Filipina mother working as a chef in the UAE bagged Dh100,000 during the Mahzooz weekly draw, a portion of which she plans to finish work on her house under construction and donate to a charity group for people with disabilities back home. 43-year-old "Carrol," from Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, in the central Philippines, expressed her delight after winning the prize. "I'm happy, of course. I don't know how long will it take me to raise such fund, but right now, it's here. I've pledged that once I win, I will donate to a charity institution helping PWDs in the Philippines." Carrol stated that she plans to start a business in the Philippines. She was also relieved that she could finish building her house back there. "The house construction is nearing completion, only the interior is being attended to." Carrol, who arrived in Dubai on March 30, 2010, stated that she began participating in the Mahzooz draw in May last year. Mahzooz has been in business for two years. According to Mahzooz, Carrol was one of three participants who won Dh100,000 each: Lourans from Syria and Sehrish from Pakistan. Aside from them, Mahzooz stated that up to 67 participants matched four out of five numbers and shared the second prize of Dh1,000,000, netting them Dh14,925 each; and 2,969 other winners matched three out of five numbers and received Dh350 each. To participate in Mahzooz, all entrants must do is register at www.mahzooz.ae and purchase a water bottle for Dh35. Mahzooz has launched a limited-time promotion in which each bottle purchased entitles participants to a two-line entry rather than one. This doubles their chances of winning the top prize of Dh10,000,000, the second prize of Dh1,000,000, or the third prize of Dh350 in the Mahzooz grand draw. They will also be automatically entered into the weekly raffle draw, in which three lucky winners will each receive Dh100,000.
