UAE: Fuel prices for September rolled back by 62 fils per liter

In response to the drop in global rates, UAE reduced retail fuel prices by 62 fils per liter for September. The UAE has reduced retail fuel prices for two consecutive months. On September 1, Super 98 petrol will cost Dh3.41 a liter compared to Dh4.03 in August, down by 15.4 percent. Special 95 petrol has been reduced to Dh3.30 per liter as against Dh3.92 from August, down by 15.8 percent. E-Plus 91 petrol will cost Dh3.22 a liter compared to Dh3.84 a liter in August, dropping 16.1 percent. Diesel will be charged at Dh3.87 a liter in September as against Dh4.14 in August. In the previous months, oil prices have declined due to concerns about the recession, global economic slowdown, and new restrictions imposed by China to curb the Covid-19 pandemic. At 10.35 p.m. UAE time on Wednesday, Brent crude oil was selling for $96.5, down 2.83 percent, while WTI crude oil was selling for $89.81, down by 2 percent. Retail fuel prices crossed Dh4 per liter mark for the first time in June 2022 since UAE announced deregulation in 2015 and reached a peak of Dh4.63 per liter in July 2022. According to globalpetrolprices.com, as of August 29, retail fuel costs in the UAE were lower than those in other countries worldwide, including numerous oil-producing countries like Norway.
