Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan. ARCHIVE

Do you love living in the UAE? Then write about it! Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan wants to hear your story through a fun writing competition called “What the UAE Means to Me.” “You can write a short story, a poem, a letter, or even an essay,” Sheikh Nahyan said, announcing the competition at Kalayaan 2025 at Dubai World Trade Center. “Your stories matter—and the rest of us would love to hear from you,” he added. The writing competition is open to ages 6 and up. Submissions in Arabic or English (stories, poems, letters or essays) will be published in a national book and winners will be celebrated at a major ceremony in 2026. On top of that, winners will get cash prizes (up to Dh1,000). Go to myuaestory.ae and submit your entry before November 30.  ICA/Expat Media
