The UAE has restricted the extension of visit visas to just 30 days, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has confirmed. The one-time visa extension came after reports that the issuance of a 90-day visit visa has been discontinued. Travel agencies say 30-day or 60-day visit visas are still available. Meanwhile, the ICP said it is allowing visit visa holders a one-time extension of their visa for a period of 30 days. The application for a visa extension can be done through the ICP app UAEICP. The visa extension will cost Dh750. The visa holder does not need to exit the UAE in order to avail of the service. Visit visa holders must extend their visa before the expiration period or leave the country to avoid being fined Dh100 per day, according to the ICP. The ICP allows expats to apply for a visit visa for their relative through the ICP website or app. ICP has urged the public to download the UAEICP smart application for the services offered, which include the request for a visit visa that requires logging in through the app with the UAE pass digital identity, then selecting “Start a new service,” and clicking on “New visa,” where there is a list containing a visa, depending on the type of visit visa.
