Dubai Police presents security measures for holiday festivities

It is the start of the Eid Al Fitr holidays in the UAE and that only means one thing, festivities will also commence. To ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration in the emirate, the Dubai Police has presented their necessary preparations and security plans. According to Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs and Head of the Events Security Committee, the police departments and its partners are fully prepared for the celebration by implementing an integrated security plan. This includes securing all mosques and large prayer grounds where Eid prayers are held, deploying patrols on all roads, and increasing security measures in vital areas, tourist spots, shopping centers, and open markets. Al Ghaithi added that they have deployed 66 traffic sergeants, 798 private security personnel, 165 lifeguards at Dubai beaches, 14 maritime security boats, 123 ambulances, 738 paramedics, 10 rescue boats, 4,387 police officers, 29 bicycle patrols, 465 security patrols, 75 civil defense vehicles, 24 small cranes, and 17 land rescue patrols. They would render 24/7 services to ensure readiness at all costs. Emergency contacts were also made known to the public: for non-emergency cases, call 901, and 999 or the “Police Eye” service via Dubai Police smart app to report any violations.
