Free Pfizer Covid-19 vaccination begins in Dubai

DUBAI – The first group of residents received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Wednesday (December 23) as free vaccination began in Dubai. Asha Susan Philip, a Dubai Health Authority nurse, was among a pair of health workers who received the vaccine, which arrived in the country on a special Emirates flight late on Tuesday. According to the Dubai Media Office, the first phase of vaccination will target frontliners, Emiratis and residents aged 60 and over, and people with chronic diseases or special needs. The free vaccine is available at Zabeel Health Centre, Al Mizhar Health Centre, Nad Al Hamar Health Centre; and at the medical centre in Uptown Mirdif. People can book an appointment by calling the Dubai Health Authority hotline at 800342. Those who meet eligibility requirements will be able to book a slot for vaccination. ICA/Expat Media
