New Dubai road, bridge expected to ease traffic now 67% complete
A new road project expected to ease traffic on Al Manama Street is now 67 percent complete, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has announced. The project is a part of the recently completed Dubai-Al Ain Road Improvement Project. The construction includes a new traffic corridor linking Al Meydan Street with Al Manama Street through a four-lane bridge in each direction that can accommodate up to 8,000 vehicles per hour. Slip lanes were also built as part of the project to connect the bridge to the Dubai-Al Ain Road. The upgrades will speed up traffic at intersections and boost the capacity of the street by 2,000 vehicles per hour. The road project is expected to be finished in the third quarter of this year. RTA had recently opened the improved intersection of Al Manama Street and Sanaa Street. The remaining intersections and the main street are still under construction.
