New rules to enter Abu Dhabi from February 1

  ABU DHABI – If you are traveling from within the UAE to Abu Dhabi, there are updated procedures to enter the emirate starting on February 1. According to the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee, the enhanced precautionary measures are part of efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19. The new entry rules apply to all Emiratis and expats, including Abu Dhabi residents. Here are the rules:

Entering Abu Dhabi with negative PCR test result

Authorities allow you to enter Abu Dhabi within 48 hours of receiving a negative PCR test result. You need to show the negative PCR test result issued within 48 hours ahead of your trip.

Entering Abu Dhabi with negative DPI test result

You can also enter Abu Dhabi with 24 hours of receiving a negative DPI test result. You cannot use DPI tests to enter Abu Dhabi two consecutive times.

PCR test user staying in Abu Dhabi for 4-7 days

If you entered Abu Dhabi using a PCR test and you are staying in the emirate for four to seven days, you must take a PCR test on the fourth day of your stay.

PCR test user staying in Abu Dhabi for 8 days or more

If you entered Abu Dhabi using a PCR test and you are staying in the emirate for eight days or more, you must take a PCR test on the fourth day of your stay and another one on the eight day of your stay.

DPI test user staying in Abu Dhabi for 3-6 days

If you entered Abu Dhabi using a DPI test and you are staying in the emirate for three to six days, you must take a PCR test on the third day of your stay.

DPI test user staying in Abu Dhabi for seven days or more

If you entered Abu Dhabi using a DPI test and you are staying in the emirate for seven days or more, you need to take a PCR test on the third day of your stay and another PCR test on the seventh day of your stay.

Exemptions

Those exempted from the travel rules are volunteers in vaccine clinical trials and those who are vaccinated as part of national vaccination programmes who have active icons (gold star or letter E) on Alhosn app.

Penalty
