The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) offers job opportunities and legal assistance to victims of illegal recruitment who still want to work abroad. Over 700 job seekers benefited from the job fair organized by DMW and participated in by licensed recruitment agencies. Many job seekers at the fair were victims of illegal recruiters who had been arrested by the PNP, the local government units, and the DMW. The DMW also provided free legal support to the OFWs, and victims caught up in illegal recruitment cases. "Do not fall for offers which include a free plane ticket and sometimes even pocket money. For a bit of money you'd get, you could suffer as a victim of an illegal recruiter and human trafficker in another country," DMW Undersecretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac said in Filipino. DMW said applicants must go through the Philippines Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and DMW and make sure to have a visa. BKM/Expat Media
