DUBAI – With a few days to go ahead of the Expo opening on October 1, the Philippine Bangkota Pavilion is all set to welcome millions of visitors, officials said. The pavilion is 100 percent complete, according to the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (PDTI). The pavilion, named Bangkota or coral reef, received visitors during a recent test run. It is the Philippines’ biggest World Expo pavilion yet, with a total area of 3,163sqm. Watch architect Royal Piñeda's top 6 favorite spots in the pavilion: “Its completion bears witness to the bayanihan (unity) that transpired among dedicated teams, both from the Philippines and the UAE, in order to bring this enormous endeavour true to the vision of the Philippine government into life,” said PDTI Assistant Secretary for the Trade Promotions Group and PH Expo 2020 Dubai Alternate Commissioner General Rosvi Gaeto. Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) Commercial Attaché Charmaine Mignon Yalong said that with Expo 2020, the Philippines hopes to attract foreign investments and boost the export of Philippine products and services. Yalong said a six-month business program has been prepared for the Expo’s six-month run to “highlight the majority of the Philippines’ strongest industries.” Yalong said PTIC will roll out dedicated forums, delegations, and series of events including the upcoming Philippine Food Festival, Philippine National Day, and Gulfood 2022.
