Elon Musk unveils subscription-based monetization plan for creators

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, revealed on Thursday (April 13) that the service's 'Subscriptions' feature is now operational. This feature allows users' most active followers to support them in receiving payment from Twitter for their contributions to the site. Shibetoshi Nakamoto, the person behind the well-known cryptocurrency Dogecoin, recently used Twitter to provide a screenshot of Elon Musk's profile, demonstrating that the tech mogul has subscribed to his account. Longform content, pictures, and videos uploaded on Twitter will all be able to be subscribed to. According to Twitter's Help website, individuals in the US who satisfy the qualifications can currently apply to take part in the Subscriptions program. On Twitter for iOS and Android, as well as on the website in the US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, subscription purchases are currently available worldwide. KD/Expat Media
