COVID-19 booster dose required for UAE travelers

Vaccinated citizens and residents of the UAE are required to take a COVID-19 booster dose after a full year (365 days) from the last dose received to get an international health passport (travel pass). According to the Alhosn app, the official COVID-19 results app for the UAE, a booster dose is a must to receive a travel pass, a worldwide health passport customized for citizens and residents. The passport is required at the airports and customs of the countries upon arrival. The app indicated the need for booster shots to preserve the green pass status for international travel by stating that users who last had the COVID-19 vaccine in the UAE more than a year ago would have their travel permit QR code expire.

How to get a travel pass?

The travel pass is an international travel certificate for COVID-19 vaccination and test results for UAE citizens and residents. This certificate is compatible with the IATA's digital travel authorization system and the EU's COVID-19 digital certificate system. There are three types of travel passes, (1) Travel Pass-Vaccination, (2) Travel Pass-Result, and (3) Travel Pass-Recovery. To get the travel pass, these are the steps. — Swipe the screen to the left and choose "Add Travel Pass." — Choose the type (Vaccination-Result-Recovery). — Click add pass. — Fill out the disclaimer that appears at the bottom of the screen. This feature is only available to UAE nationals. The Alhosn app also stated that over 3.504 million people used the app for travel passes in 2022, 3.26 million people requested vaccination certificates, and 309,070 people received all of the international vaccination certificates issued to visitors.
