UAE increases tourist visa validity to 60 days

Visas for tourists in the UAE are now valid for 60 days, an expansion from the previous 30-day validity after the UAE implemented sweeping reforms in its visa rules starting October 3. As part of new visa rules, the UAE has also made all entry visas valid for 60 days from the date of issue. All entry visas are available for single entry or multiple entry and can be renewed for a further 60 days. Entry permits for 30 days, 60 days and 90 days are still available, but is mainly for visit visas that require proof and reasons for the visit. Visitors who don’t qualify for visa on arrival in the UAE or visa-free entry to the country can apply for a tourist visa through a travel agency or airline. The cost of a tourist visa ranges from Dh550 to Dh650. Earlier this month, the UAE also launched new entry permits, including a Jobseeker Visa, and a five-year, multi-entry tourist visa. The Jobseeker Visa is valid for 60 days and is a multi-entry visa, allowing visa holders to enter the UAE multiple times during this period. The multi-entry tourist visa does not require a sponsor and it allows the person to stay in the country up to 90 continuous days, which may be extended for a similar period, provided that the entire period of stay does not exceed 180 days in one year.
