The UAE has declared January 1, 2023, as an official paid holiday for employees working in the private sector, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE). The holiday follows the UAE Cabinet's decision on officially recognized public and private sector holidays. The complete list of holidays for the upcoming year is listed in a post that the government shared. New Year: January 1 Eid Al Fitr: Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3 Arafat Day: Dhul Hijjah 9 Eid Al Adha: Dhul Hijjah 10-12 Hijri New Year: July 21 Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) birthday: September 29 UAE National Day: December 2-3 The list shows that some holidays are based on the Islamic Hijri calendar, with its corresponding Gregorian dates dependent on the moon sighting.
