A nationwide digital initiative inviting citizens and residents to express their commitment to the UAE, its values and its future is gaining momentum, with community leaders encouraging more people to take part. The initiative was officially launched on May 20 with 15 selected residents and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of Sandooq Al Watan. Speaking during the ceremony, Sheikh Nahyan said the initiative sends a strong global message about the UAE’s unity. “This initiative will send a powerful message to the whole world that we live in a strong, resilient nation blessed with wise leadership and united people and a cohesive society,” he said. The initiative allows citizens and residents to formally express their appreciation for the UAE and its leadership through a digital pledge available to people from all nationalities living in the country. According to Sandooq Al Watan, the initiative was inspired by the stories and experiences of people living across the UAE. The organisation said the pledge seeks to unite the country's diverse population, representing multiple nationalities, cultures and languages, under a shared message of gratitude, commitment and loyalty to the nation and its leadership.

How can residents sign the UAE National Pledge?

Residents and citizens can sign online through pledge.ae. Participants simply enter their name and email address before selecting the participation button to complete the process. Participation is completely free and fully digital. After completing the pledge, participants receive a downloadable certificate of appreciation that can be saved, shared or printed. Certificates are available in both portrait and landscape formats. Participants can add family members when completing the pledge. The platform currently allows an individual to include up to 10 family members in a single submission. The pledge describes a commitment by citizens and residents to support the UAE, uphold its values and contribute to a peaceful and harmonious society under the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
