UAE temperature to hit 40°C, but fog expected

  DUBAI – The UAE weather bureau has warned that temperatures will reach up to 40°C on Thursday (April 21), with the chance of fog and poor visibility. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), temperatures in internal areas will reach 40°C, and up to 38°C in mountainous areas. Temperatures will drop to 15°C in mountainous areas, 18°C in coastal areas and 16°C in internal areas in the UAE. Fog is expected on Thursday night and in the early morning of Friday, with visibility to drop further over some internal and coastal areas. The weather on Thursday will be fair to partly cloudy, with an increase in temperatures and humidity by night and Friday morning over some western areas. Light to moderate southeasterly, becoming to northwesterly winds, freshening at times causing blowing dust over exposed areas during daytime, with speed 15 to 25 reaching 40 km/hr. Waves will be slight in the Arabian Gulf in Oman Sea.

Hot and partly cloudy at times over some areas, clouds appear over some eastern areas may be convective over mountains. Light to moderate southeasterly, becoming to northwesterly winds, freshening at times causing blowing dust during daytime, with speed 15 to 25 reaching 35 km/hr. The sea will have slight waves in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

Sunday, April 24

Hot and partly cloudy at times over some areas, clouds appear over some eastern areas may be convective over mountains.
