Abu Dhabi ladies beach temporarily closed until 2023

The Al Bateen Ladies Beach in Abu Dhabi has been temporarily closed starting Monday (July 4), authorities announced. The beach will be redeveloped to include “world-class public amenities”, according to Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT). The Al Bateen Ladies Beach is expected to reopen in the second quarter of 2023. Its redevelopment covers more than 36,580 sqm. It will have a 500-metre jogging track, restaurant and cafes, a convenience store, shower rooms, gyms, a paddle court and volleyball court. “The project aims to develop the beach to become one of the best destinations in Abu Dhabi City for ladies, which offers them leisure activities with more privacy,” said Dr. Salem Khalfan Al Kaabi, Acting Director General of Operational Affairs in DMT. The beach will also have child-friendly park recreation facilities, such as slides, trampolines, and swing ropes. ICA/Expat Media
