Dubai allows nightclubs to open to vaccinated people

DUBAI – Nightclubs in Dubai are now allowed to open for vaccinated individuals as authorities announced eased measures for indoor and outdoor venues. A Dubai Media Office spokesperson confirmed that vaccinated clubgoers can order drinks and food, but dancing will remain banned as visitors need to socially distance. On Monday, Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management announced an easing of a series of precautionary measures effective on May 17, for a trial period of one month. Under the updated rules, live entertainment and activities will now be allowed in indoor and outdoor venues, including malls, hotels, restaurants and cafes. Precautionary measures must be observed and performers and entertainers must be vaccinated against Covid-19. Entertainment facilities and venues can have an increased capacity of 70 percent. Permits for concerts and social events will be given on condition that attendees and participants are vaccinated. In January, Dubai shut down nightclubs and bars that are not primarily restaurants after a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases daily. ICA/Expat Media
