Dubai car plate AA8 sells for Dh35 million at charity auction

  DUBAI – The single-digit Dubai car plate number AA8 sold at a charity auction for Dh35 million, according to organisers on Sunday (April 17). The special car plate was among four auctioned off to support the 1 Billion Meals initiative in Dubai. In less than two hours, the charity auction raised a total of Dh53 million. ALSO READ: How to donate to 1 Billion Meals campaign The remaining three double-digit vehicle plate numbers – F55, V66 and Y66 – sold for Dh4 million, Dh4 million, and Dh3.8 million, respectively. The Most Noble Numbers charity auction also included 10 special mobile numbers auctioned off. It is organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives in collaboration with Emirates Auction, with the support of Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, du and Etisalat. The Most Noble Numbers charity auctions will continue throughout the coming week where Abu Dhabi Police are organising an online auction for 555 unique vehicle plate numbers on April 17 and 18.
