The Dubai Mallathon at Mall of the Emirates. DUBAI MALLATHON
Residents looking to stay active during Dubai’s summer months will once again be able to turn shopping malls into fitness hubs as the second edition of Dubai Mallathon gets underway on Monday (June 15). According to the Dubai Media Office, the initiative was launched under the directives of Dubai Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and will run daily until September 15. The programme transforms some of Dubai’s largest shopping centres into air-conditioned walking and jogging tracks from 6am to 10am, offering residents a comfortable way to stay fit despite soaring summer temperatures. During Pro Racing Days, the regular runs and walks will start at 8:30am. No registration is required on regular days, but on Pro Racing Days, registration is mandatory via dubaimallathon.ae. Beyond walking and jogging, participants can take part in a range of fitness and wellness activities designed to make healthy living accessible and enjoyable for all age groups. Organisers said the initiative is designed to appeal to families, professionals, senior citizens and fitness enthusiasts seeking an alternative to outdoor exercise during the hottest months of the year. By bringing physical activity into familiar and accessible public spaces, Dubai Mallathon aims to encourage residents to adopt healthier lifestyles while strengthening community connections. Building on a record-breaking debut The inaugural Dubai Mallathon in 2025 attracted widespread participation and secured a Guinness World Record for the largest mall running event of its kind, with 1,300 participants taking part. Officials hope the expanded second edition will attract even more residents and visitors, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a city that promotes active living and innovative community initiatives. With three months of daily activities planned, organisers are expecting thousands of participants to lace up their trainers and make the most of the unique indoor fitness experience.
