Abu Dhabi updates quarantine rules for residents, arriving passengers

DUBAI – Authorities in Abu Dhabi have announced updated quarantine rules for residents and travelers arriving in the country, shortening the number of days required for quarantine. According to officials on Sunday (May 2), vaccinated travelers arriving from destinations not on the “green list” will undergo quarantine for five days, and not 10 days as previously mandated. Those arriving from green list countries are not required to undergo quarantine. Countries on the green list include: Australia, Bhutan, Brunei, China, Greenland, Hong Kong, Iceland, Israel, Mauritius, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and South Korea. Vaccinated travelers arriving from green countries must take a PCR test on arrival and on their sixth day in Abu Dhabi, without the need to quarantine. Vaccinated travelers arriving countries not on the green list must take a PCR test on arrival, quarantine for five days and take another PCR test on the fourth day of their stay. The new rules apply to vaccinated Emiratis and Abu Dhabi residents who completed their vaccination at least 28 days prior to their flight. Non-vaccinated Emiratis and Abu Dhabi residents arriving from green countries must take a PCR test on arrival without undergoing quarantine, followed by PCR tests on their 6th and 12th day in the emirate. Non-vaccinated Emiratis and residents arriving from countries not on the green list must take a PCR test on arrival, undergo quarantine for 10 days and take another PCR test on the 8th day of their stay.
