New shipment of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine arrives in Dubai
DUBAI – A new shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for Covid-19 has arrived in Dubai, according to state news agency WAM. The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) received the vaccines, which have been distributed to DHA’s health centres, on Tuesday (February 16). On December 23, the DHA started its vaccination campaign using the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine as part of its vaccination campaign, which has since been expanded to include Sinopharm and AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccines. As of Tuesday, the UAE has administered a total of 5,198,725 doses of the Covid-19 vaccines. UAE health authorities have said that the ongoing vaccination campaign prioritizes the elderly, as well as those with chronic diseases or disabilities. “The priority is now given to those who are 60 year old and over,” said Dr. Farida Al Khaja, Head of the Steering Committee for the Vaccination of Covid-19 at DHA.
