Quarantine must for even just 15-min Covid contact

DUBAI – Anyone who comes into close contact for even just 15 minutes with someone infected with coronavirus must quarantine at home for 10 days, according to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). According to the DHA, the precautionary measure applies to close contacts who have symptoms and even those who test negative for Covid-19. “The quarantine period is set as 10 days because latest studies have found that this is the incubation period of the virus,” said DHA’s Dr. Hend Al Awadhi. “Even if close contacts don’t have any symptoms they can still be infectious and infect others, which is why it is mandatory to complete the 10-day quarantine period,” he added. Those who have completed the quarantine period do not need to take a PCR test if they do not have symptoms. Those who test positive for Covid-19 must follow further quarantine procedures and avoid receiving visitors or sharing items, rooms or toilets with household members. ICA/Expat Media
