Ras Al Khaimah builds longest suspension bridge in northern emirates

  RAS AL KHAIMAH – A new architectural landmark is taking shape in Ras Al Khaimah that will add to the emirate’s tourist destinations. The longest suspension bridge in the northern emirates links the two buildings of the new Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island. Spanning 36km, the bridge will feature eight hotel rooms and vantage viewing points, opening to spectacular views of Al Marjan Island. Some 310 tonnes of structural steel was used to build the bridge. It took 65 days, a 650-tonne crawler crane and more than 55 people to complete its design and installation. The suspended bridge is one of the stand-out features of the Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island, which is being developed at a cost of Dh543 million. ICA/Expat Media
