According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Security Ports (ICA), the services for separate Emirates ID issuance or renewal for all resident categories are to be suspended except in Dubai. The new policy is effective from Monday (May 16). The separate residency services such as issue or renewal shall be available exclusively for residents with a separate ID request in process for only a limited period of time. Instead of the separate services, issuance or renewal requests for residency and ID will be in a unified form that will soon replace the previous individual requests, following the mandate of discontinued issuance of UAE residency stickers last April. Residents may opt to use the UAEICP smart app to obtain a soft copy of the ID card upon request. The new generation of Emirates ID cards will include the UAE residents’ details including the personal and professional data, the issuing entity, and other necessary data. Residents may print their residency details through personal or business accounts at the ICA’s website or the UAEICP smart app. They may also refer to the website or the app for additional services such as residency requests, details, procedures, filing, application data, and payment fees.
