UAE announces gradual lifting of crowd restrictions at events, activities

DUBAI – Restrictions on crowd capacities at activities and events in the UAE will be gradually lifted, according to the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority (NCEMA). Meanwhile, in Dubai, events and social gatherings will return to full capacity by February 15, according to the Supreme Committee of Crisis & Disaster Management. The committee made the announcement on Wednesday (February 9) in line with NCEMA’s decisions. Dr. Farida Al Hosani, Official Spokesperson of the UAE Health Sector, highlighted the importance of community responsibility amid the easing of Covid-19 restrictions in the country. Al Hosani said that mass vaccination is continuing across the country, with 94.75 percent of the population already fully vaccinated. She stressed, however, that the vaccine is not a substitute for observing precautionary measures, such as wearing face masks, respecting social distancing and sanitising, among other protocols. She urged the public to cooperate with the national efforts and adhere to the preventive measures by wearing face masks, avoiding overcrowding and constantly sanitizing. ICA/Expat Media
