Some UAE schools ordered to switch to online classes amid Covid-19 scare
ABU DHABI – A group of schools in the UAE have been ordered to switch to online classes after the discovery of suspected cases of Covid-19 among their employees. The Ministry of Education said the move is to ensure public health and the safety of students. According to the ministry and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management authority, affected schools will implement the distance learning system until the affected employees' Covid-19 tests results are out. The authorities also urged faculty, students and parents to cooperate and to disclose suspected cases or contacts with people infected with Covid-19. Parents have been told to keep their children home if they show any symptom of coronavirus. Meanwhile, the authorities warned the public to follow precautionary measures, to avoid circulating rumours and to respect individual privacy, adding that legal action will be taken against violators.
