Filipina jailed in UAE reveals affair with Clavio

  DUBAI – Former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Sarah Balabagan, who was jailed in the UAE for stabbing her employer 34 times after he tried to rape her, has claimed that broadcaster Arnold Clavio is the father of her first born. “Ang ama po ng panganay ko ay, yes, si Arnold Clavio po (The father of my first born is, yes, Arnold Clavio),” Balabagan said in a recent Facebook Live video. The Filipina said she finally revealed her secret after 22 years when the issue resurfaced. She said she is happy with her life, and that she only wanted to set the record straight for her child. The late ambassador Roy Seneres and broadcaster Rey Langit were among those rumored to be the father of her first child. Balabagan said she was saddened that Seneres got into controversy after helping her with her case and during her pregnancy. Balabagan was initially given the death sentence for murdering her employer, but the sentence was reduced to one year in jail, and payment of blood money with the help of a Filipino businessman. The Filipina said she got close to Clavio when the latter covered her case in 1996. Her story was turned into a 1997 film starring Vina Morales. Balabagan said she had a relationship with Clavio from 1996 to 1997 and that they both agreed to keep their affair a secret. Balabagan was 17 and Clavio was 31 when she got pregnant. In her recent Facebook post, Balabagan apologized again to Clavio’s wife and family for their affair. Clavio has not issued any statement on the matter so far.
