Flight from Dubai makes emergency landing in India
DUBAI – An Air India flight from Dubai made an emergency landing at the Kochi airport in India on Tuesday (April 13). The flight was bound for Mangalore, but was forced to make an emergency landing due to heavy rainfall that lowered visibility. The aircraft was carrying 118 passengers. “Air India flight from Dubai to Mangalore was diverted and landed at the Cochin International Airport due to bad weather conditions in Mangalore,” said ACK Nair, Director of Cochin International Airport. An Air India Express spokesperson confirmed to media that the affected flight was an Air India Express flight, the budget airline under Air India. However, the spokesman denied it was an emergency landing, calling it a "weather-related diversion". There were no reports of injuries following the incident.
