The city civic body assured to take action to stop similar attacks from happening again. In a viral CCTV footage, the child is abruptly attacked by the dogs while they are tailing him, which causes him to fall to the ground. He was alone so the vicious stray dogs continued to maul him. According to a Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) official, the boy was holding a pouch containing some food when the dogs attacked him. The boy's father is a security officer at a car service center and he brought with him the victim and his six-year-old daughter. The victim was attacked and sustained terrible injuries. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Following the incident, a regular dog-catching drive was carried out in the area following the rules, and up to 28 street dogs were captured for sterilization. However, the majority of them were found to be sterilized, adding that the dogs were then released.
