Big Ticket Abu Dhabi: 3 Indians win Dh100,000

A jobless former expatriate of the UAE is now Dh100,000 richer after being one of three Indian nationals to win Dh100,000 each at the third weekly e-draw of Big Ticket, organisers announced on Saturday (February 25). Indian national Sudhakar Amasa, a former UAE expat, was the first to take home the Dh100,000 prize. Amasa had been trying his luck since 2014 in hopes that he would one day receive the winning phone call. He bought his winning ticket online on February 15. Amasa plans to use his cash prize to pay off his debt. Now back home in India, Amasa previously lived in the UAE for 11 years, in Oman for nine years, and in Bahrain for four years. He left Bahrain in October 2022 and now hopes to relocate once again to the UAE. When asked about his win, he explained how happy he was to have won this month as he has been unemployed since leaving Bahrain: “I’ve been interviewing with a few companies, so this money will really help me out until I find a new job.” Grateful that his luck struck at the right time, Amasa says he will definitely continue to buy Big Tickets.

Indian expat in Abu Dhabi wins Dh100,000 in Big Ticket

Abu Dhabi resident Padmanabha Koragappa Balakkila is the second person to walk away with the Dh100,000. The Indian national, who has been living in the UAE for the past four years, bought his winning ticket on February 20, just two days before this week’s winners were announced. ALSO READ: Guide to 5 raffle draws in UAE Having pooled his money with a group of 10 people, he says he hadn’t expected to win and has yet to decide how he will spend his portion of the cash prize. Balakkila has been purchasing Big Tickets for over a year. Melroy Rinal Do Dias was the last person to be named the Dh100,000 winner during the third weekly e-draw. Having grown up in Oman, the lucky winner works as a sales supervisor and has been trying his luck for the past five years by purchasing his tickets online. He bought his winning ticket on February 21 with a group of 11 of his friends, all of whom will now share in the cash prize. Dias told Big Ticket’s representatives that he wasn’t aware of Big Ticket’s weekly e-draw, so his win came as a complete surprise.
