The wheel of fortune finally came around for Ajman-based Indian expat truck driver Mujeeb Chirathodi after winning Dh12 million in the Big Ticket raffle draw series 239 held on the second day of Eid Al Fitr in Abu Dhabi. Chirathodi said his prayers were answered after buying his winning ticket 229710 on April 22, the last night of Ramadan. “After long years of working abroad, I have managed to build my own home in Kerala. I have home loans to repay too. I can settle all my dues now. I can breathe easy now,” he said. “My Ramadan prayers have been answered, especially those by my mother and family. God has heard our prayers,” Chirathodi added. The 49-year-old hails from Melattur town in the Malappuram district of Kerala in India. He started his Gulf journey in 1996 with a job in Saudi Arabia and moved to the UAE in 2006, where he became a truck driver. Currently, Chirathodi is working as a tanker driver in Al Naqa Drinking Water, a company run by people from Kerala.
