Amer centres at Dubai International Airport’s Terminals 2 and 3 are fully prepared to assist individuals seeking to rectify their visa status during the amnesty period, starting Sunday (September 1). The grace period, announced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP), provides a two-month window for overstayers to correct their residency status or leave the country without incurring fines. Hussein Al Zaqri, Director of Public Relations and Amer Centres, said that a comprehensive plan has been put in place to handle the influx of amnesty seekers. The airport branches are ready to operate around the clock, providing all necessary facilities to assist customers efficiently. Other branches, including those in Al Aweer and the main building in Al Wasl, Dubai, have also increased staff and supervisors to ensure quick and accurate processing of applications. This initiative forms part of a broader effort by the UAE government to manage residency violations under the Federal Law on Entry and Residence of Foreigners, ensuring compliance and providing overstayers with a chance to rectify their status without facing financial penalties.
