As the start of the two-month amnesty scheme is fast approaching, concerns have arisen as scammers are also moving fast, preying on overstayers with fake offers. Several visa overstayers have reported being approached by individuals offering residency visas at unusually low prices. Immigration experts warn that these offers are scams, as the actual process of obtaining a residency visa is more complex and expensive, depending on the type of visa. They explained that these scams are meant to take advantage of the desperation of overstayers looking for a quick and affordable way to regularise their residency status. Experts strongly advise amnesty applicants to be cautious and only deal with accredited service centres, typing centres, or go directly to government authorities. FLE/Expat Media
