Over 4,000 amnesty applicants were interviewed by several companies, with 58 hired in the first two weeks of the amnesty programme, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai announced on Wednesday (September 18). The hired individuals were employed in positions that aligned with their qualifications and experiences. The GDFRA has collaborated with 22 companies across various industries, including construction, transportation, logistics, domestic labor, manufacturing, and restaurants, to demonstrate its commitment to offering new job opportunities and a safe working environment for amnesty applicants.

These companies have set up on-site interviews at the GDFRA tent in Al Awir to offer thousands of job opportunities to amnesty applicants, helping them start new lives in the UAE after regularising their residency status.

The ongoing visa amnesty programme will run until October 31, allowing overstaying expats to regularise their status without facing legal consequences, entry bans, and paying fines. During its first week, nearly 20,000 violators sought amnesty with 88% of them choosing to stay in the country. Meanwhile, the other percentage decided to leave the country. Last September 12, over 60 Filipino amnesty applicants were repatriated to the Philippines.
