The UAE government has issued a final call for visa violators to regularize their status before the amnesty period ends on October 31. After months of a lenient amnesty period starting on September 1, authorities have clarified that there will be no extension and that a strict crackdown will commence on November 1. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has doubled its manpower at the Al Awir Centre to accommodate last-minute amnesty seekers. Lieutenant Colonel Salem bin Ali, Director of Customer Happiness at GDRFA, has urged those remaining to come forward, emphasizing that penalties will resume for visa overstayers from November. Individuals with valid Emirates ID can process their exit pass through Amer centers, while those without it can complete biometric processing at Al Awir Centre, open from 8am to 8pm. Similar facilities are available in Abu Dhabi and other emirates. Visa violators granted an exit pass are allowed a 14-day grace period to depart the UAE penalty-free.
