The UAE's Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Ports Security (ICP) has issued new guidelines for visa overstayers regarding fingerprinting requirements before they leave the country. These regulations apply to visa holders aged 15 and above and must be adhered to during the amnesty period, which extends until October 30. All visa holders aged 15 and older must undergo fingerprinting before departure, except those holding or who have previously held an Emirati ID, children under 15, and cases where fingerprinting is not possible due to physical limitations. Overstayers who already have fingerprint records need to request an exit permit, which will be issued immediately. If no fingerprints are on file, they must visit designated fingerprint centres to complete the process. The exit permit is valid for 14 days. Overstayers are allowed to leave without penalties if they depart the UAE before the grace period ends on October 30. However, if they fail to leave before the permit expires, they will be required to pay any accumulated fines. The ICP also noted specific procedures for visas issued by different emirates, including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and other regions. All residency violators are encouraged to take advantage of the grace period to adjust their status, apply through online channels, and avoid penalties. ICA/Expat Media
