The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has issued a fresh warning to residency violators, with less than two weeks left until the visa amnesty deadline on October 31. Violators are urged to rectify their status or leave the country to avoid fines and legal action, as authorities prepare to intensify inspections starting November 1. The ICP announced that after the grace period, violators will be subject to all previously waived fines and penalties. The authority also emphasized that there would be no leniency or extension of the amnesty period. Inspection campaigns will target residential areas, companies, and industrial zones in collaboration with other government agencies. This initiative, which began on September 1, offers violators a chance to regularize their stay or leave the UAE without incurring fines or re-entry bans. The ICP highlighted that violators are also exempt from fees related to visa cancellations, exit permits, and other related fines, adding that there is still sufficient time for overstayers to rectify their status. “Those who fail to comply within the given timeframe will face stringent legal measures. There will be no extensions or exceptions,” said an ICP spokesperson. Violators can adjust their status by securing employment and obtaining a new residency permit or by leaving the country without penalty. The ICP has been working closely with foreign embassies, certified typing centers, and various government entities to ensure that procedures are simplified for violators. The authority also warned typing centers to comply with all regulations, as violations in these centers will not be tolerated. Violators are encouraged to submit their applications via the ICP’s electronic channels or approved typing centers without the need to visit service centers, unless biometrics are required.
