Updated on October 31, 2024 The Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) has revealed details of the amnesty process, confirming that there would be no overstay fines, exit fees, and other administrative fines to be collected. The authority also confirmed that those who choose to leave the country after changing their residency status will not get an entry ban and can return to UAE with a valid visa. The amnesty programme will cover all types of visas, including tourist and other expired visas. Those who absconded from their sponsors and foreigners born in the UAE whose parents have not registered his or her residency within four months from the date of birth can also apply. However, those who entered the country illegally cannot apply for the amnesty. Those who overstay their residency visas after September 1 are also not eligible to apply. Residency visa violators who wish to regularise their residency status can apply in the following centres: 1. Dubai- all Amer centres; General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai centre in Al Awir 2. Abu Dhabi- ICP centres located in Al Dhafra, Suwaihan, Al Maqa and Al Shahama. These service centres are open from 7am to 8pm for biometric fingerprinting. Visa violators can also apply for the amnesty at ICP centres across the UAE. Applicants can also submit their application online 24/7 through ICP's electronic and smart channels or at approved typing centres. The amnesty programme will run until December 31. UAE visa violators are urged to take advantage of the amnesty and get a chance to start anew either in the UAE or with their families back in their homeland. FLE/Expat Media
