Dubai Frame to host New Year drone shows for first time

The iconic Dubai Frame is set to welcome the New Year with a major upgrade, as drone shows will debut alongside its traditional fireworks display on December 31 (Wednesday). The addition of drone performances marks the first time the landmark will feature aerial choreography as part of its New Year’s Eve celebrations, offering residents and visitors a fresh way to ring in the New Year. Dubai Frame will be open to the public from 8am to 9pm. Adel Al Marzouqi, Executive Director of Dubai Municipality, said the Dubai Frame celebrations form part of a wider, emirate-wide programme. “The New Year celebrations are part of a comprehensive city-wide programme that includes 48 fireworks shows across 40 locations in Dubai,” Al Marzouqi said. Dubai Municipality added that 14 public parks will extend operating hours until 1am, allowing families to enjoy the festivities in safe and comfortable surroundings. The Dubai Frame has long been one of the city’s most popular New Year viewing spots, and this year’s addition of drone shows is expected to draw even larger crowds eager to experience the spectacle.
