Dubai is preparing for its biggest New Year’s Eve celebration ever, with authorities confirming 48 fireworks shows across 40 locations to welcome 2026. Officials said the scale of this year’s celebrations will be matched by the largest New Year’s Eve security operation in Dubai’s history, involving more than 23,000 personnel and coordination between 55 government and private entities. The operation will be led by 9,884 Dubai Police officers, supported by 13,502 private security staff, along with 1,625 security patrols, 36 bicycle patrols, 34 mounted patrols, and 53 marine rescue boats to ensure safety across land and sea. Fireworks will light up many of Dubai’s most recognisable landmarks, from Downtown Dubai and Palm Jumeirah to desert resorts and mountain destinations like Hatta.
